Classics are usually played on nylon strings. Nylon strings are distinguished from metal strings by a softer sound, as well as the way they are fixed on the guitar neck. Before pulling nylon strings on a classical guitar, it will be useful to familiarize yourself with some of the nuances regarding this issue. And remember - under no circumstances should you swap nylon strings for metal strings and vice versa. This can damage the instrument or run into rattling strings after installation and pulling.

Instructions

Step 1

Loosen the strings with the tuning pegs on the headstock. The strings should be loosened gradually and strongly, although they should not sag. Be aware that sudden changes in the tension on the strings can deform the neck of the guitar.

Step 2

Now you can start changing the strings itself. Start replacing strings with the one you are comfortable with. Unscrew the peg so that you can remove the old string, then remove it from the holder (nut). You should not take out the strings all at once, so that there are no problems with where and which string to pull.

Step 3

Take a new string, fasten it in the holder, tie it in a knot. It is better to make a loop for 1-3 strings (thin) from several turns so that the string does not slip. And just in case, leave a small tail (2-4 cm) after tying the knot.

Step 4

After tying the knot, thread the string through the hole on the tuning peg instead of the string you removed. The first three strings can be threaded through the hole again for security. Strings 4 through 6 hold perfectly on the tuning pegs without re-threading.

Step 5

Replace all other nylon strings in the same way. When you're done stringing your strings, you can start tuning your guitar. Try to pull the strings at the same time and little by little, in order to prevent accidental curvature of the neck or other troubles.
