The guitar is an affordable and fairly easy-to-learn instrument. Novice guitarists should pay attention to nylon strings. Unlike metal strings, synthetic strings are much thicker and therefore have a larger contact area, which will avoid rubbing corns.
Instructions
Step 1
The guitar uses a set of strings of different thicknesses, which are selected so that when pulled, each string produces a sound of a certain pitch. First, place the strings on the guitar in order of thickness. Determine the height of the strings above the guitar neck. For acoustic guitars with nylon strings, set this distance to 4-4.5 mm. In addition, when adjusting the height, make sure that the strings do not rattle against the nut during play. In this case, you will have to increase the height.
Step 2
Please note that after installing the nylon strings, they will "stretch" for the first 2 days of playing, and the process of playing the guitar, as a rule, consists in constant tuning. To make the strings fit faster after installation, stretch them a little harder the first time you tune and tune immediately 1-1.5 tones higher.
Step 3
Repeat the setting after a couple of hours. However, pulling the strings too much is also not worth it. This can lead to a reduction in their service life. When setting the strings, also try not to have many loose strings on the tuner. To do this, overlap the second loop over the first so that it holds it.
Step 4
To test the sound quality of the strings on a 6-string guitar, press the 1st (thinnest) string at the 5th fret. Its sound should be similar to that of A tuning fork. Press string 2 at the 5th fret. It should sound in unison with the 1st string. Place the third string at the 4th fret. The sound should be in unison with the 2nd string. Press down on the 4th string at the 5th fret. It should sound in unison with the 3rd string. Place the 5th string at the 5th fret. The sound should be in unison with the 4th string. Press down on the 6th string at the 5th fret. It should sound in unison with the 5th string.
Step 5
Nylon strings are relatively short-lived, so follow a few general guidelines. After installing and tuning the strings, put the guitar aside for 1-2 days to allow the strings to stretch naturally. Play the guitar with clean hands only so that the strings do not deteriorate prematurely. Wipe down the neck and strings regularly. If one string breaks, replace all six as the new string will sound differently from the others.
