The abundance of scarves of all colors and sizes in the store can lead to a dead end. In search of the best option, you run the risk of wandering around the malls for too long, never daring to choose one. To save time, make your idea of the perfect scarf a reality - felle it with wool.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare your workplace. It is most convenient to make a scarf using the wet felting technique, so you need to protect the surrounding space from water. Line the table or floor on which you will roll with plastic. Take out all objects that can deteriorate from moisture from the room: drops will surely fall outside the film.

Step 2

Choose wool for your scarf. Its amount depends on the expected length of the accessory. Take wool in two matching colors. At the same time, make sure that all skeins are of the same brand.

Step 3

Spread the wool for the scarf on your work surface. Make a pattern on it in the form of cells. To do this, first lay out the strands of the same color horizontally. Then, perpendicular to the first layer, lay out another one (of the same shade). Add two more layers of the same perpendicular to each other (the more layers, the warmer and denser the scarf will be). Moisten the workpiece with soapy water and process with a vibrating grinder. If you do not have this technique, use your hands to smooth the wetted coat. The canvas should become solid, not disintegrate into separate fragments.

Step 4

Take the second color wool. Divide it into strands and lay out a grid with them, breaking the main canvas into identical squares. You can also lay out only horizontal or vertical stripes or any other simple pattern. Soak the coat with water and continue working as before. The new fragments should be firmly connected to the main canvas (check how much they are connected as you work). When the pattern is securely in place, turn the scarf over to the other side and repeat the pattern.

Step 5

Rinse the finished product under a contrast shower. Crumple and wring the scarf to make it even more durable. Then lay the scarf on a flat surface and wait until it dries completely. After that, the scarf can be decorated with a fringe (sew the edges of the product with woolen threads and secure them with a knot), embroidery or a pattern stuffed using the dry felting technique.
