Do-it-yourself socks are a very good gift for friends and loved ones, they are not only original, but also convey a piece of your soul, and among other things, they will warm you in cold winter and save you from colds in rainy autumn.
Instructions
Step 1
With the usual method of knitting a sock, the toe is knitted last - this is the final part, which can ruin the appearance of the entire product if it is not knitted neatly or correctly. The toe of the sock, if desired, can be made with a contrasting color of the thread. When knitting a toe, subtract 4 loops in each row, so that embossed paths are formed on the sides of the sock, similar to converging narrow ribbons. When decreasing on the 1st and 3rd knitting needles, do not complete 3 loops each, but knit the next 2 loops together, like the front and the last one with the front. On the 2nd and 4th knitting needles, everything is done in a mirror image: knit the 1st loop with the front one, and knit 2 subsequent loops together with a tilt to the left. Start decreasing in a certain mode: first in every 4th row, then in every 3rd, and then 2nd row, at the end in each row, until the last 8 loops remain on the needles. Pull these loops with a double thread, twist the sock, and bring the thread to the wrong side, then fasten it firmly.
Step 2
The toe can also be the beginning of the knitting of the sock. In this case, distribute the dialed loops on 4 knitting needles, and after knitting several rows, pull the end of the thread so that the initial loops are pulled together in the center. It is better to knit with the front stitch in a circular, adding on the 1st and 3rd knitting needles in each row 5 times 1 loop, and in every second row - 6 times also 1 loop. Perform the increments as follows: knit the first loop with the front one and make air loop with right turn. On 2nd and 4th knitting needles, add 5 times 1 st in each row and 6 times 1 st in every second row, doing air loops with a left turn in front of the last loop. Knit the last loop with the front one. When there are 13 loops on all knitting needles, knit in a circle with an even cloth.
Step 3
There is another way to knit socks - horizontal. In this case, the socks are knitted on 2 knitting needles along the leg: the back part from the top of the toe to the heel down, then the heel, the foot, and only then the toe of the toe, then the upper part to the top of the toe. To calculate, we measure the desired length of the sock to the big toe and multiply the required number of loops by 2, for example, 144 loops. Then 4 loops will go to the toe, and 70 to the back and front of the toe. Add 1 loop for the heel, we get 145. Cast on 145 loops and knit: 35 - garter stitch, 1 (heel) stocking stitch, 35 (foot) stocking stitch, 4 (toe) stocking stitch, 70 On the third row, start making heel increases and toe: 1p. on both sides of the heel and 1p each. on both sides of the toe loops. To avoid holes - lift the broach between the loops on the left knitting needle and knit with the front crossed raised broach. Add in every second row: heel - 7 times, 1 loop on both sides up to 15 loops; toe - 4 times, 1 loop on both sides, up to 12 loops. After knitting 18 rows, knit further mirrored. Close the loops and sew the sock at the sides.
