It is necessary

  • - knitting needles for knitting metal No. 4
  • - any yarn (quantity depending on the length)

Instructions

Step 1

The initial row is a set of loops. Using two knitting needles, we collect the required number of loops. How to calculate loops? The number of loops should be a multiple of 5 (for example, 25) + 2 (edging). As a result, there should be only 27 loops on the needles.

The scarf is 17 cm wide and 1, 40 cm long.

Step 2

1 row - remove 1 loop (always throughout the entire knitting of the scarf) to another knitting needle (do not knit), 2nd loop, 3rd loop, 4th loop, 5th loop and 6th loop - we knit each loop front knit (5 loops). Next 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 (5 loops) - knit with purl stitch. Then we continue knitting 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 (5 loops) again knit. Then 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 (5 loops) - all purl, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 (5 loops) with knit stitch, and 27 loop - hem is always knitted with a purl.

Step 3

2 row - 5 row - remove the first edge loop and do not knit, then we knit in the same way as 1 row. We knit the last loop of the row with the purl.

From the sixth to the eleventh row, we look at the drawing and knit every five loops in the opposite direction to the drawing. We look at the loops, if we see the front loops, then we knit with the purl, and we knit the purl loops with the front loops.

Thus, we continue to knit the scarf to the desired length.

Step 4

Now you need to finish the work and close (secure) the knitted fabric. This is done as follows. With the knitting needle in the right hand, we knit two loops together with the front knit. It turned out one loop and we throw this one loop back onto the left knitting needle and so on to the end. It turns out an even pigtail from the front loops.

Then we hide the tail thread with a needle.

When the fabric of the scarf is knitted, you can observe the pattern of the pattern, which resembles a checkerboard and consists of repeating squares (5 by 5) from the front and back loops.
