Instructions

Step 1

Use beadwork skills. Snowflakes made using this technique look very elegant and festive. Choose beads, go for a shimmery gold or silver shade. You can use several colors in the work, for example, embroider the core with a darker one, and the edges with lighter beads. Prepare the material - you will need a material with a not very dense weave of threads, for example, woolen cloth. Carefully draw a snowflake, remember that beadwork looks especially impressive when the outline of the image is made in several rows of beads. Sew each bead separately with one stitch. To avoid over-tightening the fabric while embroidering, insert it into the hoop.

Step 2

Cross the snowflake. To do this, download the scheme you like on the Internet, print it out. Choose a floss or woolen thread in a suitable shade. Prepare your fabric. If you are embroidering on canvas, count the number of crosses in the pattern and make sure the snowflake fits on the selected piece of fabric. If you want to make an embroidered design on an item, for example, a Christmas boot or a gift bag, sew a special removable canvas with basting stitches on the material from which the item will be made. Hoop the work surface of the canvas or fabric and embroider the snowflake. Make sure that each cross stitch is directed strictly to one side. After finishing work, argue the seams of the basting and remove the auxiliary canvas.

Step 3

Create a New Year's snowflake using simple stitches such as chain stitch or forward needle. Draw a pencil outline on the fabric, start sewing from center to edge. Use lurex thread or metallized floss in your work. Decorate the ends of the rays with sequins with beads. If you are using a chain stitch, make sure that the direction of the chain of all rays goes from the center or vice versa.
