Before the New Year, most people want to decorate their home or office with some unusual decorations. Making them with your own hands is especially pleasant. The simplest decoration that you can make yourself is a New Year's snowflake.

Step 1
The simplest and most accessible type is a New Year's paper snowflake. Take a piece of heavyweight paper and fold it in half. The sheet should be square, since the picture will be located in the middle. Draw the lines and curves along which you will cut the snowflake pattern with a pencil. Leave the middle for now intact, for it pick up a picture from a children's book or from the Internet. After the drawing is ready, start cutting. The picture in the center should be connected to the patterned lines, leave a "bridge" for it. After you have cut out the whole pattern - unfold the sheet, the snowflake is ready. You can make pictures with angels, they are perfect for celebrating Christmas. Children will be delighted with snowflakes with the characters of their favorite cartoons - there are many options, it all depends on your imagination

Another type of snowflakes - "sweet", they are suitable both for decorating a New Year's cake and in the form of Christmas tree decorations. Separate 3 egg whites from the yolks, transfer them to a clean, dry bowl, add a whisper of salt and begin to beat with a mixer. Add the icing sugar gradually, only 300 grams is needed. The result is a thick, dense foam, which will need to form snowflakes. Transfer the resulting mass to a pastry bag and install a nozzle with a diameter of at least 3 mm. If there is no bag, a plastic bag will do, cut the tip to the specified size. Line a baking sheet with baking paper. In order to make the contours of the snowflakes even, place the drawings of the snowflakes under the paper, they will shine through. They can be drawn by hand or printed from the Internet. "Draw" snowflakes with a pastry bag and dry in the oven at 100 degrees for an hour. If you want colored items, sprinkle with food coloring before baking. After they have frozen, remove them from the oven, wait until they cool completely, and carefully separate them from the paper. The resulting decorations are quite fragile, if you decorate a cake with them, then choose butter cream for it so that they do not melt

The most difficult type of New Year's snowflakes is beadwork. You will have to work hard to make them, but the result is worth it. To make a five-pointed snowflake, take 10 pieces of thin copper wire, each 50 cm long. Place them on the table in pairs in the form of snowflake rays, gently twist them in the center so that they are all connected. Next, make the rays of the snowflake. String the beads on one wire from each pair, and the second will serve for the inner ring. There are many options, you can take three pieces of wire, then you get two inner rings. Beads can be used in different sizes, along the length of the beam - a smaller one, place a large bead at the end. For inner rings, you can use beads of other colors - the scope for imagination is unlimited.
