Cutting a snowflake out of paper is a simple and effective way to decorate a room for the New Year. Pick a paper color, arm yourself with sharp scissors and fantasize with shapes, sizes and patterns.
It is necessary
- - colored or metallized paper;

- - nail scissors.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a piece of paper, preferably thin, that will be easy to fold several times. Also, regular scissors are not suitable for thick paper. In this case, it is better to use a sharp cutter so that the edges of the patterns do not turn out to be torn. The most accurate snowflakes are obtained from sheets of A5 format, in addition, a lot of them can be made using a different pattern. To get such a sheet size, it is enough to cut an ordinary landscape sheet in half.
Step 2
Cut a strip of leaf to make a square. To do this, place it vertically on a table, fold it diagonally so that the edges of the top and side come together, and cut or tear off the excess strip with a ruler. When folded, you get a triangle.
Step 3
Place the triangle with the base up and fold in height to make a triangle that is half the size. Then fold the new triangle in height again, aligning the sides.
Step 4
The most common New Year's pattern is the herringbone. This is at the same time the simplest drawing, since it is performed by simply cutting out parallel triangles of different or the same size. Take the triangle in your non-working hand so that the fold side is on the working side. With the other hand, use scissors to cut the triangles at the fold, as shown in the illustration
Step 5
Be creative by creating your own unique patterns, for example, cut circles, ovals, squares and rectangles or other fancy shapes instead of triangles. When you're done, unfold the sheet and spread it out.
Step 6
Snowflakes can be rectangular, oval, round, have torn edges and a pattern in the middle. Trim the edges of the folded sheet to give the piece the desired shape. If your drawing is too complex, use nail scissors.
