Valentine's Day is a holiday that came to Russia not so long ago. However, even in a short period of time, it gained immense popularity, especially among young people. On this holiday, it is customary to exchange valentine cards made of absolutely any materials.
It is necessary
- - pieces of felt in saturated colors;
- - threads in the color of felt;
- - safety pin;
- - special scissors with teeth;
- - synthetic winterizer or cotton wool;
- - cardboard;
- - pencil;
- - a needle.
Instructions
Step 1
Decide how many valentines you want to make. Prepare all materials. Draw a heart-shaped shape on a piece of cardboard, then carefully cut it out.
Step 2
From felt, cut two pieces of approximately equal size (the size of the pieces should be slightly larger than the previously made cardboard template) and put one piece on top of the other.
Step 3
Place a cardboard pattern in the shape of a heart on the felt, circle it with a pencil.
Step 4
Gently cut the hearts with special scissors with teeth. To make the hearts the same, it is advisable to cut them off at the same time, that is, by putting two pieces of felt together. Felt, as you know, the material is quite dense, so it is advisable to use sharp scissors for cutting.
Step 5
Take a felt-colored needle and thread. Begin sewing the two resulting heart pieces with small basting stitches.
Step 6
Leave a small area unfinished and start filling the valentine's heart with padding polyester or cotton wool. To do this, take a small amount of the filler, place it in the felt heart and gently tamp this filler with a pencil. Once the garment has a slightly convex shape, sew the hole with basting stitches. Fasten the thread so that the product does not "split".
Step 7
Take a safety pin of the correct size and a felt-colored needle and thread, then carefully sew the pin to the wrong side of the felt valentine. In order for the pin to hold for a long time, it is best to sew with small stitches.
Step 8
Thus, make the required number of valentines. Optionally, they can be decorated, for example, by gluing rhinestones, beads, lace, ribbons, etc. to the front side. Variants with appliqués made of felt, but in a color contrasting with the product itself, look very original.
