Baubles are bright homemade bracelets woven of woolen threads, floss, thin ribbons or beads. They can be a wonderful memorable gift for close friends. Round baubles differ from other weaving options in that the bracelet is a voluminous cylindrical braid.
It is necessary
- - two satin ribbons in a contrasting color;
- - pin;
- - a needle with a wide eye.
Instructions
Step 1
Purchase two satin ribbons in a contrasting color 5 mm wide and 2 or 2.5 meters long from a craft store. Fold the ribbons in half to define their center, and pin them in a criss-cross position. Remember to singe the ends of the ribbons above the candle to keep the edges from unraveling.
Step 2
Place one end of the tape located at the bottom of the crosshair over the tape in a contrasting color. Repeat the same operation with half of the second tape. Next, fold the other end of the first ribbon and do the same with the second ribbon. As a result, you should have a shape that looks like two intertwined S's at 90 degrees to each other.
Step 3
Tighten the knot carefully, taking care not to curl the ribbons in the weave. You should have a square with a side of about 1 cm.
Step 4
Remove the pin and continue braiding. Tighten the knots in sequence following the technique described above. Make sure that the ribbons do not twist to the wrong side.
Step 5
Adjust the tension when braiding. If you tighten the knots very tightly, you will end up with a very dense and tough bauble with a small diameter. The result of looser weaving will be a voluminous and elastic bracelet, which, if desired, can be used as a decorative hair tie.
Step 6
Braid the bracelet to the desired length. Take a needle with a wide eye. A cross stitch needle with a blunt tip is ideal. Pull the needle under the top ribbon at the beginning of the weave. The needle should go under the fabric, not pierce it. Take one of the ribbons from the other end of the bauble, thread it through the eye of the needle and pull it out.
Step 7
Slip the needle back under the top ribbon at the beginning of the weave. Do not puncture the fabric. Insert a different colored ribbon into the needle and also pull it out next to the first one. Tighten the ribbons and tie a flirty bow. Fenichka is ready.
