Everyone knows paper snowflakes since childhood. They are cut out of napkins and thick paper, and every master really wants to make them beautifully shaped and with an elegant pattern. An openwork snowflake can be of any shape. To make it round, you need to carefully follow some rules.
It is necessary
- - paper;
- - scissors;
- - compasses;
- - ruler.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a piece of paper. This sheet most often has a rectangular shape, that is, its length is slightly greater than its width. Square sheets are rarely found in stores, but to get a round shape, you need just such. Make it yourself. Bend the sheet, starting at one of the corners and aligning the short and long sides. You have a triangle, and at the bottom is a free strip. Fold it over to either side and cut it off. When you spread the sheet, you will see a square.
Step 2
Fold the sheet diagonally again. You now have a right-angled triangle. Find the middle of the hypotenuse and fold the triangle in half with the legs aligned. Then fold the shape in half again and align the legs again. The resulting triangle has two sides, one side open. The other two are fold lines, one of which is slightly shorter than the other. Mark the size of the short side on the long side, starting from the center of the snowflake. You can do this with a compass or ruler, but you can also bend the triangle by combining the long and short folds and marking a point. The main thing is that the radii of the circle are the same. Cut off the protruding outer edge.
Step 3
Next, cut out the snowflake as you usually do. Cut in curved lines along the folds, at some distance from them. The more curls there are, the more beautiful the snowflake will turn out. Cut the fancy line to keep a few centimeters from the center. Rotate the workpiece and cut a curled line along the other fold. Do not unfold the snowflake yet.
Step 4
Step back about 0.5 cm along the fold from the bottom edge, cut a hole. It can be round, triangular, diamond-shaped. It all depends on your imagination. Cut a few more such holes along the fold, and then along the other fold too. You should have something like antlers. Spread and smooth out the snowflake. It turned out to be round, it has fancy edges.
Step 5
Blanks can also be made using a compass. True, in this case, you will have to work more with scissors. Draw a circle on the back of the paper. If the paper is thin, fold a few sheets together and cut out the blanks.
Step 6
Fold the circle in half and then another 2, 3, or 4 pieces. The snowflake can be cut as described in the previous method. But you can not cut any openwork lines along the folds, but simply make holes along the lines themselves. Cut the edge with teeth or a wavy line. This method is very suitable for foil snowflakes.
