The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift is an American crime thriller directed by Justin Lin. The film is the third part of the famous franchise and is created in a new, unique Tokyo style and completely renewed both the atmosphere and the cast.
Plot
The events of the third part of "Fast and the Furious" (original name - fast and furious the tokyo drift) are transferred from the United States to Japan. The main character of the film, Sean Boswell, while still in America, quarrels with one of his acquaintances from school, a guy named Clay. The dispute arose over the girl and the friends decide to settle the conflict with a street ride. The winner will get everything, and the loser will leave with nothing. During the race, both drivers have a serious accident. Sean's mother, tired of her son's constant antics and travel, decides to send him to his father, an American soldier living in Japan. In the Land of the Rising Sun, Sean encounters a new phenomenon for himself, drifting and meets the expert Twinkie.
Not having had time to really settle down in a new place, the American bully faces new problems: trying to flirt with one of the girls in the party, Sean angered the local street racer DK. Traditionally for the franchise, the guys are going to solve the misunderstanding with a street race, but taking into account the local specifics. One of the local racers agrees to lend the car to Sean. During the race, Boswell crashes Khan's car, and DC wins unconditionally.
To repair the damage for the destroyed car, Sean starts working for Han and takes part in racing races. In the course of the plot, the main character gradually acquires new acquaintances and hones his drifting skills. Over time, he grows closer to D. Key's girlfriend, which is why he once beats him. Upon learning of what had happened, Neela leaves him.
Han, whose car was crashed by Sean, works in one of the cells of the Japanese mafia, which is run by DeKay's uncle. Kamata accuses Khan of lying and stealing. To sort out the situation, DC arranges a meeting with his group and Khan, but at the last moment he tries to escape. During the chase, DC tries to shoot the fleeing man and he gets into a fatal accident. Sean, along with his girlfriend, drives to his father's house, where he encounters DeKay, who intends to shoot him. Sean's father intervenes and DK leaves with Neela.
Under the circumstances, Tinky persuades Sean to leave, but he refuses, referring to the fact that he will sort out the problems. He directly addresses the yakuza and offers to return the money that the deceased Khan had stolen. He also sets a condition for DiKay: to converge in the "race of honor", where the loser leaves the city. Sean wins the race and DC gets into an accident.
The film ends with a new challenge for Sean. He meets in a racing duel with Domenic Torreto, the results of which will become known only in the seventh part of the franchise.
