Instructions

Step 1

Prepare a frame for your future painting, as well as materials for it - pieces of leather and suede of different colors, thicknesses and textures.

Step 2

Start with white leather. Cut it into strips of different widths and cut them with a fringe, leaving an uncut edge of 4-5 mm. After that, select the suede and leather pieces of the appropriate color from which you will make the flower.

Step 3

Draw a stencil for the flower petals on paper, cut it out and place it on the seamy side of the skin. Trace around the stencil, and then cut along the outline of the resulting shape on the leather or suede. Cut out as many blanks as you plan to put on your painting.

Step 4

Then take pieces of leather of a different color and cut out round or oblong leaves from it.

Twist the white strips of leather with the cut fringe into a tight spiral, smearing the lower uncut strip with glue. Straighten the fringe - you get the middle of the flowers.

Step 5

Light a candle and hold the cut leaves and flower petals over the fire so that they slightly curl and become convex. Glue the white centers on the flower blanks processed over the fire.

Step 6

After that, select a beautiful design material for the background of your painting, which you will place in the frame. It can be original fabric, handmade paper or any other materials for decorating floral panels.

Step 7

Lay the background on a flat surface and begin to form the composition of the picture on it. After all the flowers, stems and leaves are laid out in the right places, start gluing them with superglue. Add additional decor in the form of braid, buttons or beads. Your leather painting is ready.
