There is a porcelain service in almost every home. Someone prefers to use it every day, some take it out only occasionally - for setting the festive table. If you want to have a beautiful and unique set of dishes, you can achieve this yourself by painting porcelain.
It is necessary
- - paints for porcelain and ceramics;
- - palette;
- - cotton swab;
- - brush;
- - soft pencil.
Instructions
Step 1
Select the pattern you would like to see on the crockery. You can either decorate the entire set with the same ornament, or draw the whole story on the cups with a continuation on the saucers and the ending on the pot-bellied sugar bowl.
Step 2
Take a soft pencil and transfer the drawing to the china. You should not carefully copy all the contours - the pencil does not draw very well on ceramics. Just make a sketch that will make it easier for you to navigate.
Step 3
You will need special paints for work. At home, it is most convenient to use paints for porcelain and ceramics with firing. You can purchase them from an art store. They are sold both as a set and individually.
Step 4
Squeeze a few drops of paint onto your palette. Many of them dry quickly, so do not apply colors in large portions. Armed with a Q-tip, start painting over the porcelain, toning large areas. If you want a semi-transparent background, add some water to the paint. If you want to get a more saturated color - swipe the cotton swab several times in one place. Having painted over large details, take a brush and carefully paint the drawing along the contours, draw in small details. The brush must be regularly rinsed in clean water, otherwise the paint will stick it tightly.
Step 5
After completing the drawing, it should be secured. A regular home oven is suitable for this. Carefully follow the instructions on the paint packaging. Usually, the products are baked for an hour at a temperature of about 160 degrees.
Step 6
Now you can use porcelain dishes without fear that the drawing will peel off or lose its brightness. However, care must be taken when washing. Painted porcelain should be cleaned with a soft sponge and liquid dishwashing liquid. A metal washcloth, as well as a dishwasher, can ruin your service.
