The throne is an ornate chair with a high, straight back and carved armrests, the seat on which the monarch sits. This tradition originated in the East - as a symbol and attribute of absolute power. The symbolism of power is strengthened by the location of the throne on the dais and the steps leading to it. Usually the monarch's place is under a canopy, symbolizing divine protection. The throne is adorned with precious stones, gold, silver, rich carvings and expensive fabrics and images of "royal" animals - lions, peacocks.

Step 1
The throne has a complex shape, containing many details - a backrest, a seat, curved legs, carved armrests, as well as numerous decorative elements. To draw such objects, you need to simplify their complex shape to an imaginary simple figure into which they can be inscribed.
Step 2
For all kinds of classic armchairs and chairs, a parallelepiped serves as such a simplified shape. Begin drawing the throne by constructing this construction shape. With light lines, mark the vertical and horizontal planes in which the main elements of the throne lie - the seat, the back and its base (the floor plane bounded by four legs). In doing so, take into account the ratio of height, width and depth of the throne, your angle of view and the laws of building perspective.
Step 3
Draw the shape of the back of the throne. It should be tall. Its height is at least twice the height of the legs (or the distance from the floor to the seat). The shape of the back can be simple rectangular, flared or rounded upward, or resembling the shape of a shield. In principle, you can come up with and draw any shape for the back, the main thing is to maintain the correct proportions.
Step 4
Now we need to depict the seat. It has a certain thickness and can be upholstered with soft upholstery made of precious fabric (in this case, the back of the throne will also be upholstered). Be clear about all the details of the throne structure and draw them carefully.
Step 5
An important and rather characteristic detail of the throne is the curved legs with relief carvings, wooden, gilded or ivory. Draw them according to your imagination or a sample taken as a basis. Convey their volume, draw all the edges.
Step 6
Then sketch out the armrests on either side of the seat. The level of their elevation above the plane of the seat is about half the height of the legs. Their shape is slightly curved, ergonomic, repeating the natural shape of the hands, for which they are intended to support. The décor of the armrests usually follows the style of the throne legs.
Step 7
When the main details are drawn, proceed to the elaboration of the decoration elements for the royal chair - inlaid with precious stones, patterned carving, embroidered or woven coats of arms or other symbols and patterns on the back and seat upholstery.
Step 8
Finally, draw a dais with steps on which the throne stands. You can depict a luxurious canopy over the throne - a canopy. With the help of color and light and shade, convey the texture of the precious materials from which the throne is made, place the necessary accents.
