The name of this item of women's wardrobe comes from the English word "top", which translates as "top", "upper part". A short sleeveless blouse made of lightweight material is indispensable on hot summer days, and you can make it without making patterns and fitting.
It is necessary
- - knitted fabric - 50 cm;
- - an old jersey shirt or top;
- - tailor's chalk;
- - rep ribbon to match the fabric;
- - sewing accessories;
- - sewing machine.
Instructions
Step 1
It is recommended to sew tops from lightweight stretch fabrics. It can be a thin, but dense enough knitted fabric, such as oil, as well as other stretch materials that drape and stretch well.
Step 2
Take a piece of fabric approximately 0.5 m long (the value may differ depending on the length of the top and your size). Fold it so that the front side is inside and the cuts in the middle, that is, the result should be 2 folds on both sides of the fabric.
Step 3
You can cut out the top directly on the material. For a pattern, use an old jersey shirt or top that fits well on your body. Fold the garment in half and attach it to one of the folds of the fabric. Trace with tailor's chalk along the contours of the back of the product. Then turn the shirt over and attach it to the fold on the opposite side and circle the item along the contours of the shelf.
Step 4
Cut out the details, leaving 1 cm for the seam allowances. Cut out the piping. To do this, cut out oblique inlays - strips 1, 5-2 cm wide, cut at an angle of 45 degrees. Now you can start sewing the top.
Step 5
Fold the front and back details right sides to each other. Attach a rep tape to the shoulder cuts and grind them. This technique will help the product not to stretch while wearing. Slices with an overlap seam along with tape.
Step 6
Sew side seams. Sew with the jersey stitch or with a narrow zigzag stitch about 1 mm high. Also process the sections with an overlapping seam.
Step 7
Fold the piping in half, then fold the edges inward. Iron the part thoroughly. Attach it to the neck, inserting the cut into the element. Pin with tailor's pins across the seam and machine stitch. Try to make the stitch as straight as possible. Process the armholes of the sleeves in the same way.
Step 8
Process the bottom cut of the top with an overlapping seam, fold it over to the wrong side. Baste and stitch with a sewing machine so that the seam is 1-2 mm from the cut. Iron the hem.
