It is necessary

  • -packaging cellophane bag with air bubbles;
  • -pins;
  • -oilcloth;
  • - pieces of wool;
  • -water;
  • - soap solution;
  • - mesh;
  • dummy.

Instructions

Step 1

To make a beret, cut out two templates with a diameter of 50 and 21 cm from a packaging cellophane bag with air bubbles. A larger template is needed for the beret itself, and a small template is needed to form a hole. On the larger template, place the small template in the center and pin them together. Lay the templates on the oilcloth for easy rotation during work.

Step 2

Start spreading the wool pieces along the edge of the small template in a circle, gradually working up to the outer edge of the large template. The thickness should be the same everywhere. Avoid gaps between the wool pieces. Moisten your workpiece with water from a spray bottle.

Step 3

Cover with a fine mesh. It is very convenient to work with the mesh, since by carrying out the same actions with your hands, you risk shifting the wool fibers. Soak well with soapy water and rub thoroughly with your hands.

Step 4

Remove the mesh and turn the garment over with the wool down. If a little wool has come out of the edge of the template, wrap it over the template, breaking off too thick wool. After you have completely finished the entire edge, start laying the wool on the other side of the beret, i.e. onto the surface on which you wrapped the edges. Start spreading the wool pieces from edge to center in a circle. Then moisten with water, cover with a net and treat with soapy water. Flip over and wrap the raised edges onto the finished side.

Step 5

Lay out the second layer of the beret from the small template to the sides. After that, lay a thin layer of wool around the edge of the small template. Then moisten again with water, cover with a mesh and treat with soapy water.

Step 6

Turn the workpiece over and wrap the emerging edges. Lay out the wool layer from the center out to the sides. You can also add some rayon fibers, sarees, tensela neps. Then moisten again with water, cover with a mesh and treat with soapy water. Flip over and wrap the raised edges onto the finished side. Wrap the beret on a rolling pin and roll it rolled up from different directions.

Step 7

Remove the small template first and then take out the large template. Put the beret on the blank, check the joints of the side seam. Rinse a little in warm water, squeeze out gently and dry on a disc or flat. The beret is ready.
