It is necessary

  • - merino wool for felting (sand, yellow, light green, black, cornflower);
  • - six for felting "Gamma" (turquoise, kiwi, seaweed);
  • - fiber for felting (100% viscose) "Gamma";
  • - Yarn "Iris" (100% cotton) of grassy color;
  • - crystal sewn eyes 9 mm;
  • - clasp for a bag "clasp";
  • - brush-pillow for felting;
  • - mesh "tulle" for wet felting;
  • - transparent film for wet felting;
  • - thin needles for felting 4-beam star-shaped;
  • - felting thimble;
  • - liquid soap;
  • - terry towel;
  • - rolling pin with a ribbed surface

Instructions

Step 1

Cover the table with special bubble wrap for felting. Prepare the canvas for the wings and tail. Pull thin strands from a skein of light green wool, line them in a row so that they overlap. Under the first row, lay out the second row of wool slightly overlapping, filling the surface with about 20 * 30 cm. There should be no gaps between the strands.

Step 2

On top of 1 layer of wool, lay out 2, also consisting of two rows. Dampen a cloth with hot soapy water. Rub the surface with gentle finger movements for 5-7 minutes. Gradually increasing the pressure, continue rubbing the canvas with your hands in different directions until the wool fibers grab together and do not disintegrate. Continue kneading, rubbing with your palms, periodically straightening and smoothing.

Step 3

When the wool is sufficiently matted, rinse the cloth alternately with hot and cold water. Dry it by spreading it out on a towel. For the body of the parrot, cut the template out of the foam wrap. Divide the green and yellow coats into 2 equal parts. Set aside one half for the back of the template. Pull out individual strands of yellow wool and place them overlapping on the template, overlapping each other.

Step 4

Fill in the template first with rows of yellow wool 1/3 of the height, and the rest with green strands. The rows of wool should overlap each other without gaps.

Place 3 more layers on top of 1 layer of wool. Place thin strands of yellow viscose on top of the yellow wool. Dampen the coat with soapy water, spreading it over the entire surface with your fingers.

Step 5

Turning the template over to the other side, fold the protruding ends of the wool over it. In the same way as on the first side, lay out 4 layers of wool: yellow on top, green below, and so on. When all the layers are laid out, cover the template with a mesh. After dampening with a little soapy water, rub gently through the mesh for 3 minutes.

Step 6

Remove the mesh by continuing to rub the coat for 5 minutes. Turning the template over, flip the second side of the product in the same way. When the fibers grab together, start rubbing more intensely, 10 minutes on each side. Laying out the template on a terry towel, wind them together on a rolling pin, roll it over the table surface 50 times. Unfold the towel, turn the workpiece over and, again screwing it onto the rolling pin, roll them 50 more times.

Step 7

In the process of felting and shrinking the wool, remove the template by carefully cutting the wool with sharp scissors at the end of the template. Moisten the product with soapy water, work the ends of the bag outside and inside with both hands intensively so that there are no creases. Turn the product inside out and rub in the same way with 2 hands inside and out. Turn the garment out again to the right side and rub again on each side for 15 minutes.

Step 8

Place the item on a towel and roll it onto a rolling pin. Roll 50 times on each side. The size of the workpiece should be 13 * 15.5 cm. When the workpiece reaches the specified size, rinse it from the remaining soap solution first with hot and then cold water. Squeeze gently in a towel, smooth out the form, leave to dry. Insert the template back into the workpiece while drying.

Step 9

Cut 2 wings and a tail according to a pattern from green felted linen. Use a felting needle to attach the wings to your body. Decorate the wings with thin strands of yellow wool in a fancy pattern. Decorate the ponytail along the rounded side with strands of yellow and green. Weld the pointed part of it to the torso.

Step 10

Marking the middle of the workpiece, sew the clasp with green thread. Place the stitches from the center, pulling the edge of the fabric tightly inside the clasp. In the same way, sew a second clasp sweetheart on the other side of the purse.
