Standard rectangular cabinets do not always fit well into the interior. Sometimes you want it to take up all the necessary space, for example, niches, but not interfere with the passage. In this case, you can order an individual project, or you can save money and make the cabinet yourself.
It is necessary
- - a sheet of fiberboard with a thickness of 0, 3-0, 7 mm;
- - chipboard sheet;
- - furniture veneer;
- - stain and varnish;
- - jigsaw;
- - iron;
- - PVA glue;
- - carnations 20 mm;
- - furniture fittings;
- - angle ruler and pencil.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, calculate all the details of the cabinet. To do this, draw a drawing and indicate on it the dimensions of each part.
Step 2
Take a sheet of chipboard and place it on the table. Mark on this sheet of pattern lines in order to cut out the details of the future cabinet. Try to fit as many separate fragments as possible on one sheet. Watch for accuracy down to a fraction of a millimeter. Use an angled ruler to get strictly rectangular corners. Double-check the angle of each piece using the Pythagorean theorem. Mark on one side of the corner 3 cm, on the other 4 cm, and measure the distance from point to point directly. If you get 5, then the angle is exactly 90º.
Step 3
When finished with the markings, take a jigsaw and cut out all the details of the future cabinet along the cut lines. Make the cuts exactly along the lines on the chipboard.
Step 4
Take PVA glue and lubricate the chipboard surface. Plug the iron into a power outlet. Take the veneer and spread it evenly over the glue-smeared surface. Iron it and the veneer will stick to the chipboard.
Step 5
In the same way, glue the veneer to the ends of the cabinet parts. Cut off excess veneer with a knife only after the product is completely dry.
Step 6
If you want to make a dark-colored wardrobe, then cover the details with a stain. After the products are completely dry, cover them with varnish.
Step 7
Assemble the cabinet using special furniture fittings.
Step 8
The back of the cabinet is made of fiberboard, smooth side out. Cut a rectangle to fit the frame and nail it to the back with studs.
Step 9
Place the doors on the table. Mark where the handles are attached. Drill holes for them.
Step 10
Install the door openers. Secure it to the cabinet frame for proper opening and closing. For fasteners, use the standard self-tapping screws that are supplied with the furniture fittings.
Step 11
To strengthen the fastening of the doors and extend their service life, coat the self-tapping screws with PVA glue before screwing them into the chipboard.
