A snow fortress can be built in the nearest public garden, park or yard of the house. If you have your own winter cottage, this is just great. Such construction will be especially appropriate if you intend to celebrate the New Year holidays at the dacha. It will be very interesting for children to spend New Year's Eve in a kind of snow castle, while arranging snow battles.

Step 1
If the child is two or three years old, the fortress should be small, low and have a simple configuration. For older children, the structure can be made high, with several entrances and turrets. You can also tint the water and use it to paint the fortress itself. And now everything is in order.
Step 2
First, draw on the snow the shape of your future fortress - an oval, square, rectangle or any other shape. The size of the fortress is chosen with the calculation of how many children will play in it. If your company has five children, then you can build a fortress with the appropriate number of corners. And let each child build one wall. Adults during this time can help children by aligning corners and connecting walls. The main thing is not to forget to leave a place for the passage to the fortress.
Step 3
First of all, snowballs of different sizes roll down. Large lumps are placed around the perimeter of the line drawn in the snow. Then smaller lumps are installed on them and compacted with snow. As a result, you should have strong, non-collapsing walls. You can arrange loopholes in them.
Step 4
Decorate the top of the fort with turrets, flags and other items of your choice. You can even arrange a kind of competition among children for the most interesting turret. Once everything is ready, line the walls with a piece of plywood, cutting off any protruding parts.
Step 5
You can water your structure with a diffused stream of water from a hose (if possible). The jet should not be too strong so as not to make holes in the walls. It is better to water at night so that the water freezes faster, strengthening the walls.
Step 6
Together with the children, you can lay out the walls of the fortress with cones, twigs and other items that are at hand. To make the castle more festive, you can press plastic bottle caps and candy wrappers into its walls. To paint the fortress with picturesque patterns, take a regular plastic bottle. Make a small hole in it so that when pressed, a thin stream of water comes out of the bottle. Diluted paint will serve as a dye - ink, gouache or even a solution of brilliant green or potassium permanganate. Let each child take such a bottle of paint in his hands and create whatever he wishes on his wall.
