For your baby to be the most fashionable and smartly dressed, it is not at all necessary to run around the shops in search of interesting things. The almost complete wardrobe of the baby can be knitted independently. Knitted booties, caps, vests, blouses, suits and even knitted coats will become your child's favorite outfits, because children are very sensitive to mother's care and love.
Instructions
Step 1
You don't need a lot of needlework skills to knit baby clothes. There are many models that are easy to build and not time consuming. Since children's clothing is always small, even the most inept knitter can quickly cope with the manufacture of an original sleeveless jacket or hat. You can try to create a model and a drawing yourself or just peep in one of the many needlework magazines.
Step 2
You can knit children's clothes both with knitting needles and crochet. Thin light things: tops, summer dresses, T-shirts, T-shirts, booties and caps for the little ones are best crocheted - this way you can make outfits without seams that could rub the baby's skin. Warmer clothes: hats, sweaters, warm leggings are easier to knit.
Step 3
One of the key points in knitting children's clothing is the choice of yarn. Of course, the advantage should be given to natural threads. Cotton thread is best for knitting a light top, and lambswool for a warm sweater. Keep in mind that the child may be allergic to wool, therefore, if irritation appears on the baby's skin when wearing a knitted thing, unfortunately, the outfit will have to be abandoned.
Step 4
You can also use blended yarns, for example, cotton and acrylic - these things hold their shape better and do not stretch after washing. The main thing is that the yarn is of sufficient quality, soft and pleasant to the touch, as it has to come into contact with the delicate skin of the child.
Step 5
As for the size of knitted clothes, it is better to make the thing a little larger than necessary. This will allow the child to grow out of new clothes longer. So that the clothes do not stretch out and “sit down” later, it is important to wash them correctly - on hands, in warm water and dry them correctly - by spreading them out on a horizontal surface in a straightened form.
