Even death could not deprive this beautiful girl of universal love and adoration, her death was a real blow to millions of people. 15 years after the catastrophe that took the life of the princess, the shooting of another feature film about those tragic events began in Great Britain.
Films have already been made about the life and death of Diana Spencer. These are Diana: The Last Days of a Princess by Richard Dale and The Queen by Stephen Freeze. The director of the new project is Oliver Hirschbiegel, known to the audience for the film "Bunker".
The new film is an adaptation of the novel by Diana's bodyguard Ken Worf and describes Diana's two novels - with producer Dodi al-Fayed and surgeon Hasnat Khan, who, according to the princess's relatives, was the girl's only love. The role of Diana will be performed by the Hollywood beauty Naomi Watts, Dodi al-Fayeda - by Kas Anwar, and the role of Hasnat went to Naveen Andrews. By the way, many potential viewers are already unhappy with the choice of the actress for the main role - in their opinion, Watts is not at all expressive and will not be able to accurately convey the character of the princess.
Originally planned for the role of Diana was Jessica Chaysten, who was recently nominated for an Oscar for her role in the movie "The Servant." However, the role still went to Watts.
Not so long ago, the filmmakers announced the renaming of the tape. The film was originally supposed to be titled Caught in Flight, but in July it was announced that the new title was Diana. The film will be released in Russia under a slightly changed title "Diana: A Love Story".
Most of the filming takes place in three countries - Great Britain, Croatia and Mozambique. The shooting of scenes in the Croatian town of Opatija has already been completed. In the Imperial and Kvarnel hotels, episodes of Diana receiving awards for charity work were filmed, and on the streets of the city - scenes where the princess flees from the paparazzi chase. Now the film crew has moved to the city of Rovinj. The episodes will also be filmed in Pakistan, Angola and France.
The world premiere of the film is scheduled for February 20, and the Russian one for November 13, 2013.
