Pet owners often have situations when they need to transfer an animal, for example, to a veterinarian or to a show. The cat or small dog can be transported in a special bag. The pattern of such a carrier is simple, and the labor costs for its manufacture are insignificant, so even a novice tailor can handle sewing.
It is necessary
- - synthetic fabric;
- - foam rubber;
- - cardboard;
- - lightning;
- - threads to match;
- - cord for pens;
- - carbine;
- - scissors.
Instructions
Step 1
Measure the animal from withers to croup, determine the height of the body. Cut out three pieces - the bottom and two side pieces. The height of the lateral part is equal to the height of the animal's body, and the length is equal to the measure from the withers to the croup. Add ten centimeters to these parameters.
Step 2
Cut parts out of base fabric, foam or batting, and use a washable material such as raincoat fabric or imitation leather for the lining. The lining should be strong enough to prevent the animal from scratching or gnawing.
Step 3
Sew the lining and base fabric to the foam parts. Seal the bottom with a thick cardboard insert. The bottom of the bag should be tight so that it does not sag under the weight of the animal. In addition, he should be comfortable to sit and lie in the carrier.
Step 4
Sew the vertical sides of the side pieces and sew the resulting body to the bottom. Attach the zipper to the top of the carrier, leaving a small opening for the head. The animal can jump out of the bag at the most inopportune moment. To prevent this from happening, inside the carrier, near the head hole, sew a short and strong cord with a carabiner so that you can attach the animal to the collar.
Step 5
Add two long handles on the sides and one long handles to carry the bag over your shoulder. Sew on different sized pockets for small items such as a leash, collar, tissues, treats, and your cat's or dog's favorite toys.
Step 6
To make the animal more comfortable and warmer, lay a fur lining on the bottom. And for the summer, a bag will be indispensable, in which one side is made of mesh: it will be easier for the animal to breathe, and to observe everything that happens around.
Step 7
Decorate the carrier bag as you wish: with embroidery, beads, rhinestones, sequins, appliques. Sew multiple bags in different styles to match your outfit.
Step 8
Plastic carriers are very convenient and practical; they can be washed with any detergent. In addition, the animal cannot spoil it with its claws and teeth. However, you need to sew a cover on it. Make it out of an old windbreaker or tight shirt and zip it up.
Step 9
Measure the required length of the case by trying on the carrier. Cut off the sleeves of the jacket. Sew up the holes and make a slot for the handle. Leave the neck open. Slip the carrying case on, fasten the padlock and go travel.
