Drawing a boat is a pleasure! The beauty is that just a few touches are enough that even a three year old can handle, and the ship is ready! In any case, no one will argue that you painted something else. And then you can gradually develop your skills, and someday the day will come when you will be able to depict a copy of a real frigate on a scale of 1: 20 … But you always have to start from scratch.

Step 1
The most primitive version of a boat available to children of fine art is a straight horizontal line, with a triangle drawn in the center of it from above. Such ships can be drawn, depicting the endless sea horizon, behind the line of which the sailing ship has almost disappeared from sight.
Step 2
A complicated version - the boat swam a little closer so that the stern became distinguishable. Instead of a straight line, draw a trapezoid with the wide side up. Improve the sail by adding a mast.
Step 3
At the next stage, you can already try to depict not one, but two sails. At the top of the mast, draw a flag - triangular or rectangular. On the flag, you can depict some kind of sign - three petals of a lily, for example, or a cross.
Step 4
On any ship there are items that you cannot do without. Place the steering wheel in the bow of the boat. First, it will be a circle, which must be turned into a steering wheel by drawing an additional rim around. Draw something like petals on the steering wheel, and inside the circle the rays are like the spokes of a bicycle wheel.
Step 5
Another important thing is the anchor. Draw a cross at the bottom of the rear of the ship on board, a small circle at its top, and a concave arc under the base. Make the ends of the arc in the form of arrows, completing the check marks. From the circle up to the very stern, you need to draw a chain on which the anchor hangs - several even smaller circles close to each other.
Step 6
When polishing your skills as a novice artist, you can improve the boat by decorating it (if there is free space on the deck) with a second mast and adding a few more sails - large and small triangles. Sails can also be depicted as curved rectangles - as if they were inflated by a gust of wind.
Step 7
At the stage of mastering the art of ship, you are not obliged to adhere to the documentary accuracy of the image, here the expressiveness of the image is more important. Draw a small square on the rear deck - there will be a descent into the ship, to visit the captain.
Step 8
In addition to an anchor, any respected ship should be equipped with lifebuoys. Draw at least one rescue steering wheel in the bows of the ships. In the middle of the side, add three circles - portholes.
Step 9
Draw several wavy lines at the bottom of the ship, symbolizing the sea. Color the picture. The sails can be made yellow or blue, or left white with a bold outline. The flag will suit any color - red and green, with or without a pattern. The side of the ship can be decorated with a bright wide strip along its entire length. Highlight the anchor by painting it black or any dark color. The lifebuoy can be kept white by adding only a few red stripes across the steering wheel. Shade or paint over the portholes with blue or yellow paint, depending on the color of the ship itself.
