Amateur craftswomen prefer things that are sewn with their own hands - you will not find a unique outfit on anyone else. For things made with your own hands, exactly the same requirements are presented as for those that are professionally sewn - they must fit well and be sewn neatly. For many home dressmakers, sewing a classic sleeve is a rather big problem, but it is the sleeve that gives the entire product a finished look, and its correct insertion testifies to the skill of the seamstress.

Instructions

Step 1

Sew the bottom (side) seam of the sleeve, iron and smooth the seams on both sides, overcast them. Turn the sleeve inside out.

Step 2

Align the reference mark, which on all patterns is along the edge of the sleeve with the shoulder seam, and the side seam of the product with the lower seam of the sleeve. In some classic models, the notch - the control mark on the armhole is aligned with the notch in the lower part of the sleeve.

Step 3

Baste the lower part of the armhole with the sleeve, retreating from the reference mark by 15 cm in both directions. Be careful not to stretch the material. In this area, do not fit the sleeve or stretch the armhole material.

Step 4

The remaining unseven section of the sleeve, attach to the product along the bend with the help of pins. If the fabric is slippery or difficult to sew, use a needle thread and baste the sleeve to the armhole by hand. Sew in from the side of the sleeve.

Step 5

Sew in the sleeve on a typewriter. At the bottom of the armhole, make a double seam - it has the greatest stress when the finished product is worn. In the upper part of the sleeve, along the edge, sew slowly, slowly and carefully, distribute the fit, adjusting the density of the fabric with the tip of a needle.

Step 6

Squeeze the fit along the edge a little, while being careful not to touch the sleeve, trim the allowances at the bottom of the sleeve so that their width is 1 cm.

Step 7

If there is a skate, then baste it with pins from the side of the sleeve and stitch it on a typewriter along the armhole. Unscrew the sleeve and lightly plant it with an iron and a steamer.
