There are a huge number of varieties of sleeves. There are two most common ways to sew in a sleeve: a classic (set-in) sleeve or a shirt-cut sleeve. In these cases, there is a sleeve, and there is a shoulder seam on the product.

Instructions
Step 1
Before sewing in the sleeves, transfer the control notches from the pattern to the sleeve and armhole. Then they will need to be combined.
Step 2
If you have a set-in sleeve (with a high rim), then first complete all the seams on the sleeve, as well as the shoulder and side seams on the product. If you are sure of the length of the sleeve, you can trim the bottom of the sleeve.
Step 3
Then make a fit on the shoulder of the sleeve. To do this, place a machine stitch with a 4 mm stitch at a distance of 3-5 mm from the future stitching seam between the control notches. It is necessary to pull off the line by pulling on the thread that stretches better. The assembly should be small and uniform. It is needed so that the flat sleeve takes the shape of a round shoulder.
Step 4
Insert the sleeve turned up on the front side into the armhole and fasten it on the seamy side of the product, aligning the control notches. Control notches are the middle of the sleeve along the rim with a shoulder seam, and a notch on the sleeve with a notch on the armhole. You need to split the needles by placing the needles perpendicular to the cut after 5-7 cm. After that, be sure to sweep the sleeve with a stitch of no more than 1 cm, evenly distributing the fit with your fingers.
Step 5
Gently iron the steam fit, lightly touching it with the tip of the iron and not going over the sleeve. Sew in the sleeve (machine stitch) from the side of the sleeve, making sure that the fit is evenly distributed. Check if you have a straight line. If the line is straight, sew another machine stitch with a clear seam within the seam. This will ensure the strength of the product. Iron the seam of the sleeve also with the tip of the iron, lightly touching and not going over the sleeve.
Step 6
If the sleeve is shirt-cut, in which the ridge height is small, and the ridge itself is more elongated, then the processing sequence will be different. This sleeve is used in loose-fitting garments. This method can also be used to sew in the sleeve discussed above, if it is used in products of elastic materials without a fit on the sleeve.
Step 7
No fit, sleeve seam and side seam are not pretreated. Align the control notches and pin them along the cut as described in the description above. This sleeve can be processed immediately on a typewriter without sweeping as it is non-stop. If in doubt, it is better to pre-sweep the sleeve.
Step 8
Iron the seam seam. Now align and staple the sleeve cuts and the side cuts of the product. In this case, you should have the same seam of the armhole and the length of the sleeve cuts and the length of the side cuts of the product. Machine stitch and iron seam.
