It looks very beautiful on delicate, elegant products - of course, provided that it is done correctly and neatly. The set-in sleeve is best done according to the pattern. The stitching method depends entirely on the author's intention.

Step 1
The set-in sleeve is knitted last when the shelf and back are ready. This will make it possible to try it on to the armhole. Start knitting the sleeve from the bottom according to the style. It can be short or long, with or without elastic. This does not really matter for knitting an okat, with the exception of strongly flared sleeves and "flashlights". Tie to armhole.
Step 2
There is no single rule for tying an okat. In this case, it is impossible, as when performing raglan, to say how many loops and after how many rows you need to lower, because everyone has different sizes. Therefore, it is best to do an individual calculation. Count the number of stitches in the last row before the armhole. Divide that number by 2 and mark the middle of the row. Divide the result by 3. If it is divided only with the remainder, then attach the "extra" loops to the first third. It is better to mark the division points too - for example, with another thread. All this can be indicated on the pattern. For example, let's say the first part is A, the second is B, and the third is C.
Step 3
Divide the first part (A) from the beginning of the row in half again. Break the first half in 3 loops, the second in pairs. Do not touch the loops of part B, and divide part C into three loops. If you cannot divide completely, add the remainder to the initial three. The second half of the sleeve should be a mirror image of the first.
Step 4
Having dealt with division, start lowering the loops. Try to make the first row of the ridge knit. Close the first 4 stitches. At the beginning of the next (purl), also close 4 loops. These loops represent the outermost groups from your calculation, plus the edging. In the next rows, close the number of loops corresponding to your division. That is, in sector A1 it will be 3 loops in each row, in sector B - one loop, etc. Knit like this until 6 loops remain on the needles. Try on the sleeve to the armhole and close the last row.
Step 5
The okat, tied in shortened rows, looks more neat. The calculation for it is done in the same way as in the previous method, but the hinges do not close. Tie a row to the last 4 sts and turn the knit over. The untied beginning of the row is left on your left spoke. Do the same in the next row, and then do not tie the rows according to the pattern. At the end, close all the loops on the knitting needles.
