Embroidery with ribbons often attracts craftswomen, because it allows you to create real works of art, and much faster than other types of embroidery. Flowers from ribbons look very impressive; for a start, you can try to embroider lilacs with ribbons.
It is necessary
- - dense fabric for the base;
- - hoop or frame;
- - needle for ribbons with a wide eye;
- - an ordinary thin needle;
- - silk threads in the color of the ribbons;
- - scissors;
- - the pencils;
- - sketch.
Instructions
Step 1
Place the embroidery fabric over the hoop or wood frame, otherwise it will shrink. Using colored pencils, transfer the drawing to the fabric, trying to convey all the details. It is best to use a finished drawing, such as a reproduction of a famous painting or photograph.
Step 2
Choose the tapes carefully for the job. Come to the store directly with the drawing and choose materials for work: ribbons and silk threads. It is very important to choose the right ribbons by color. Also, don't forget brown ribbons for branches, green ribbons or cloth for leaves.
Step 3
Begin sewing the lilac branch from the edges. Thread a large needle with a small piece of tape close to the end so that the tip is inside out, tie a knot on the tape (not tightly) and hide the second tip a few centimeters from the first.
Step 4
Using a thin needle, through which a silk thread is threaded in the color of the ribbon, fix the knot so that it lies as it should. You will have a small flower that will end all branches. You can not cut the tape from the inside out, but carefully bring it to another branch. Thus, make the required number of thin small flowers at the ends of the branches, three pieces each.
Step 5
Start embroidering the lilac itself. To do this, pass the ribbon from the wrong side to the front side, and here, bring out the needle with silk thread. Thread the silk thread into the ribbon and sew with small stitches across. Then sew a few stitches along the edge of the ribbon.
Step 6
Unfold and sew across. You will get a zigzag seam, there may be several such zigzags. Pull the thread so that the ribbon twists in nice folds, fix with the thread on the fabric.
Step 7
Continue to embroider the lilac branches using the small ribbon flowers. When the space allotted for a certain color of lilac is full, hide the end of the tape on the wrong side of the fabric and secure with thread. Continue with a different shade of tape.
Step 8
Make the branches from brown ribbons; for volume, you can first wind them on the knitting needle. Cut the leaves out of green satin fabric, burn them with a match at the edges, bend them in half lengthwise and iron them with an iron, then straighten them and iron them lightly. As a result, you should have a sheet with a stripe in the center. Complement the lilac composition with leaves and branches.
