Many of us would like to learn how to sew professionally. After all, this is not only an opportunity to dress yourself and your family members beautifully and fashionably, but also to make money. Modern magazines offer us the most current models, and high-quality fabrics can make the things you sew many times better than those sold in stores. However, sewing is not so easy, there are many nuances that need to be mastered. Let's consider this issue using trousers as an example.
Instructions
Step 1
Learn to resize patterns
Change the length of both the front and back halves of the pattern along the three correction lines applied perpendicular to the share thread. Along the first lines, which are 15 cm below the waist, lengthen by 1 cm. Along the second lines, which are in the middle between the height of the seat and the knee, lengthen by 2 cm. Along the third lines, which are in the center between the level of the knee height and the lower cut the lengthening by 2 cm.
Step 2
Also, if a person's height differs from the height indicated on the pattern, you can calculate the change in length using the following example. For example, you change the length of the trousers according to the pattern for a height of 160 cm for a height of 174 cm.
First, find the difference between the desired height and the growth of the pattern, in this case it will be 14 cm. Now determine the value of the ratio (14: 8 = 1.75). Extend the pattern 1.75 along the first lines, 3.5 (1.75 * 2) along the second lines, and 3.5 along the third lines. The lengthening itself is carried out as follows. Draw three adjustment lines on the front and back halves of the pants and cut along these lines. Spread the pieces of the pattern along the cut lines by the required amount of elongation and stick them on the strips of paper.
Step 3
Increase the width of the product
Increase the width of the trousers at the bottom. For example, the width of the trousers at the bottom of the model you like is 40 cm, and you need 45 cm, therefore, the difference is 5 cm. Increase both the front and back halves by the same amount (in this case, by 2.5 cm for each half). Divide the amount of expansion in half, add the lack of width evenly at the step and side cuts (in this example, 1.25 cm). Calculate the change in the width of the trousers at the knee level by analogy with the change in the width of the trousers at the bottom. Gradually move the extension line from knee level to seat height.
