Organza is a beautiful material that easily maintains a given shape. It is often used to create various decorative elements and embellishments, the most popular of which are, perhaps, bright and lush bows.
It is necessary
- - organza ribbon;
- - scissors;
- - decorative cord or narrow tape;
- - pins;
- - a needle;
- - threads.
Instructions
Step 1
Purchase an organza ribbon with a length of 1-1.5 m in a sewing supply store. It is advisable to select the color of the ribbon, taking into account the color of the gift wrapping to which the decorative bow will be attached. Packaging and a bow of the same color look very elegant, and contrasting color schemes in the design of a gift may be quite appropriate for New Year's holidays or a children's birthday. Patterned organza ribbons also look very impressive.
Step 2
Make four rings out of the organza ribbon. Fold the ribbon so that the lower petals of the future bow are larger than the upper ones. To do this, fold the tape in half and fold it, starting from the center, with an uneven accordion, in which each subsequent segment should be slightly longer than the previous one. Use safety pins to prevent the ribbon from unfolding. Secure the resulting bow blank with several ties in the middle. Sew the ribbon loosely so that later you can model the arrangement of the petals.
Step 3
Straighten the bow loops. You can make a strict, geometrically correct bow with clear symmetrical petals. If you want to give this decoration some carelessness and airy lightness, shift the petals relative to the center and straighten individual fragments of the bow stronger than others.
Step 4
Use a decorative cord, narrow satin ribbon, or paper tape to decorate the center of the bow. Tie the middle of the bow with a cord or ribbon and make a few loops by knotting them neatly or stitching them in the center of the bow. This will create a small bow in the center of the organza petals.
Step 5
Cut the ends of the cord or satin ribbon. If you used a thin paper tape, then its ends can be twisted into graceful spirals using scissors. The ends of the opening satin or brocade ribbons must be melted by gently passing them over the candle flame.
