Often in the back closets there are deposits of unnecessary things. Among them you can find various belts, overlays, hoods, collars. These accessories are offered to us with more weighty items, but it is not possible to wear them individually - they do not always harmonize with the existing color ensemble. It is a pity to throw them away, so many craftswomen come up with unique ideas for processing these materials. For example, altering an old fur collar and turning it into a hat.
It is necessary
Fur collar, lining fabric, sewing supplies, sewing machine
Instructions
Step 1
Parse the former product and determine the size of the resulting skin. It should be approximately 65 cm long and 30 cm wide.
Step 2
Draw a pattern for the future product. It is drawn on specially designed paper, with cells of 5 by 5 centimeters, and then cut out.
Step 3
Moisten the seamy side of the fur by rubbing in water with a special brush. During this procedure, you must not allow moisture to get on the hair. Saturation of the material with moisture will help the product to become elastic and soft, to take any shape you want.
Step 4
Draw a pattern on the inside of the fur, then cut it out with a razor. Using the same pattern, cut out the thick fabric for the lining to keep the garment in shape. Details that consist of fur skins must be sewn by hand, and fabric linings must be sewn using a sewing machine.
Step 5
When sewing fur parts, do not forget that the material must be processed from the inside out using frequent stitches with a stitching seam from left to right. With your left hand, with your index finger, slowly remove unnecessary fibers into the wrong part of the product. The tool should be approximately equal to the width of the flesh, otherwise you will simply tear it. You can also sew on a sewing machine using a zigzag stitch. For a neat look, place the two pieces of fur with the right side in, hide the hairs, and sew directly around the edge of the fabric.
Step 6
Carefully insert the lining into the fur part of the hat, trying to match the seams. Fold the edges of the lining half a centimeter and sew it neatly to the fur by hand. Pull the finished product onto a jar or pan that matches the size of your head and let it dry naturally.
