Wind is a natural phenomenon that appears in different forms and has many names. It can be a light breeze or a violent hurricane, a cold mistral, or a tropical cyclone. Before adding wind to your drawing, think about how it will be.

Step 1
Moving currents of air can be depicted as wavy double lines or vortex-like curls. If the drawing is supposed to be colored, draw the lines in light blue or blue. To show the wind, you can demonstrate how it affects various objects. So, having drawn a line of wind, draw a leaf of a tree to its end. It will look as if the air flow has picked up the leaf.
Step 2
To show windy weather, draw trees bending under the gusts of wind. To do this, depict the tree trunk slightly inclined in the direction of the air movement. Suppose the wind is blowing from left to right. In this case, the crown of the tree should shift slightly to the right side. The left edge of the crown will be less wavy and less uniform than the right. Draw some lines on the right side of the crown to show the direction of the wind.
Step 3
The wind also affects the grass. Draw green blades of grass curved towards the direction of air movement. The wind is often accompanied by cloudy weather. Clouds change their shape under its influence. To depict this kind of weather, draw some ordinary clouds. Then erase their left edges and add more elongated silhouettes of clouds on this side.
Step 4
If you are drawing a person who is blown by the wind, think about what elements of the character can change their position under his influence. For example, it can be hair or clothing. Sketch with a hard pencil a barely visible outline of these elements. Arrange them as if they are not affected by the wind. Then draw a diagonal from where the element meets the character in the direction of the wind. And focusing on the diagonal, move the free end of the element.
Step 5
In a drawing stylized as a children's animation, you can depict the wind as follows. Draw the silhouette of the cloud. Paint it gray or blue-gray to make the cloud look like a thundercloud. Draw four lines on the cloud for squinting eyes and eyebrows that converge on the bridge of the nose. Then add a nose - a potato and draw a mouth in the form of the letter "O". A stream of air should come out of this letter, shown by two diverging lines that end in a small cloud.
