Video games are a relatively new direction in the entertainment industry, which is becoming more and more attractive every day. The graphics in new projects look naturalistic, the setting of special effects is breathtaking, and the ability to control the process opens up new facets of interaction. However, many are wary of innovation, and the question of the "value" of games is still open.
Fundamentally, it is more convenient to judge games by drawing parallels with cinema. This is not to say whether cinema is useful in itself - it all depends on the specific case. So, for example, the cartoon "The Lion King" is considered a work of art, which is quite suitable for children. On the other hand, Bergman's films are also art, but for much narrower circles. With video games, the situation is absolutely similar. Among them are magnificent and terrible, philosophical and nonsensical, varied and monotonous. Only one thing can be said for sure: a well-chosen game tells a compelling story and evokes genuine emotions, sometimes even stronger than watching a movie. And therefore, of course, games have an impact on the moral education of the player. However, you should not believe the reports that another maniac loved violent video games. If only because no one really understands where the cause is in these situations, and where the effect is. But the game, nevertheless, is not a film: it has a much longer duration and offers a person an element of interactivity, allowing you to control the process on the screen. By itself, this does not give anything, the details are important. There are a lot of logic, adventure and strategy games that make you regularly strain your brain to further advance the story. Obviously, this is only beneficial. Another type of projects, on the contrary, is gray and uninteresting "corridor shooters" that do not require any participation of the head in the process. And here it is already worth pondering. Everything is useful in moderation. The corridor shooter itself is useful for children as a way of teaching spatial thinking (you can hardly find so many multi-storey labyrinths in the yard). But you can't play the same game for too long - monotony hasn't been good for anyone yet. It was also not useful to sit for a long time in a certain position. As well as excessive cruelty and obscene curses. Therefore, if you are hesitant to play video games for you (or your child), the answer is "Play, but not mindlessly." As long as you select interesting projects, do not forget about regular physical activity and other ways of leisure - the games will not harm you.
