Undoubtedly, the most popular portable console in our country is the PSP - the "younger sister" of the legendary Sony PlayStation. For what they only use it: watching movies, surfing the Internet and reading e-books. But, of course, its main function is games, and you can enjoy them not only in splendid isolation. The presence of a Wi-Fi module in the set-top box allows you to play together with a friend, and the developers have tried to make it easy and convenient!
It is necessary
- • 2 PSP consoles
- • Disc with a game that supports Game Sharing, or 2 discs with a game that does not support Game Sharing
Instructions
Step 1
Turn on the Wi-Fi module on both PlayStation Portable. The switch is located on the left side of the attachment and must be in the "up" position. To conserve battery power, it's wise to turn off Wi-Fi when not in use for two-player gaming.
Step 2
Make sure that you have configured channels for the Ad Hoc connection, which is used when connecting two set-top boxes to each other. To do this, from the main screen of the console go to the "Settings" section, then select "Special Mode". To play together, you must either select the same channel number on both PSPs (for example, "1") or the option "Automatic".
Step 3
First, let's analyze the option when the game does not support Game Sharing mode, i.e. both you and your friend have a game disc. In fact, the co-op mode launches differently in each game. Due to the differences between genres, the item names in the menu are different. It can be Multiplayer or Cooperative Play, it can be located in the main menu of the game (along with "Settings" and "Load a saved game"), or it can be a sub-item in the "Game" menu.
Step 4
After you have found the menu item for cooperative play, on one of your PSPs you need to go into it and select the "Create a game" option. Further, there can be a choice of other options, for racing games - the choice of a track, car, etc. In the end, you will find yourself in the Multiplayer Lobby and you will see the inscription "The game has been created".
Step 5
On the second PlayStation, you need to enter the same type of game, but select "Join Game". After that, the Wi-Fi indicators on the consoles will light up, after a short time the consoles will find each other, synchronize, and the game will begin.
Step 6
For games that support Game Sharing, you only need one disc. In this case, there will be a corresponding item in the game menu. Selecting it on the console where the disc is inserted, you will see the inscription “Waiting for a request from another player. Please wait….”. From the main menu of the other PSP, select Co-op. In the next menu, you will see the name of your friend's console and the name of the game, confirm your choice. Confirm the connection on the set-top box with a disk. After that, the download of the entire game from the first console to the second will begin, which will take some time. After it ends, the game will start.
