You can make a budget and original do-it-yourself rug for your home. Your author's work does not require expensive materials, everything you need for creativity can be found on the mezzanine or in the closet. You recycle old things, and the resulting product will delight you and arouse the interest of your friends.
Fluffy knitted rug
You can use regular old T-shirts and T-shirts to make this rug. Remove all appliqués and tags. Cut the laundry into long strips about 3 cm wide. Pull each strip at two opposite ends to curl the fabric into a tube. This can be done in another way. Put the strips in the washing machine and wash quickly, so they will curl themselves into tubes. Then turn the tubes into pieces about 10 cm long.
From a piece of thick fabric, make a rectangle the size you want your rug to be. Finish the edges by folding and sewing them on a typewriter. If the fabric is stiff and difficult to fold, trim the edges with matching tape.
Arrange the strips of fabric in one row. Begin laying with the center of the knit tubes close to the edge of the rug. Sew all strips through the center with your machine. Bend them back to lay out the next row of tubes in parallel. The tighter you place the rows of stripes, the more fluffy your product will be. Sew the entire rug this way.
Using material of different colors, you can create even a simple pattern on the rug.
Fluffy rug on mesh
A fluffy rug will brighten a bathroom or be a nice addition to your or children's bedroom. Its size can be made arbitrarily, as long as you have enough fabric. Cut the T-shirts into strips 10-12 cm long and about 2 cm wide. For the base, you need a large-mesh plaster mesh. Shape it into a shape for your rug.
Use your crochet hook to thread the strip of fabric into the mesh so that both edges are on the same side. It will be the front for the rug. Tie the protruding ends into a knot. Thus, arrange the entire rug. Try to thread the fabric as often as possible to keep your rug fluffy.
Knitted braids mat
Cut the T-shirts into long ribbons about 2–3 cm wide. Take three strips and sew them together at the very beginning. You can use ribbons of the same color or combine different ones. Weave a pigtail out of them. When the fabric comes to an end, sew new strips. The length of the braids depends on the size of your rug.
Rugs made in this way will look beautiful and unusual if you use terry cloth from bathrobes or towels.
Fold the braid into a circle or oval. Fasten one row to the next with a needle and thread. When the rug is fully laid, sew all the braids on the typewriter or sew again carefully by hand.
