Among modern finishing materials, there are a variety of unusual wall coverings, with which you can create a beautiful and original interior. One of the most popular, but not cheap finishing materials, is an artificial decorative stone. You can make such a stone at home in order to further use it for wall cladding in your home.
It is necessary
- - cardboard,
- - gypsum,
- - knife,
- - candles,
- - acrylic paints,
- - grid.
Instructions
Step 1
To make an artificial stone, you will need thick cardboard, gypsum, a knife, paraffin or wax candles, as well as acrylic paints and a grid for reinforcing the gypsum.
Step 2
From thick cardboard, glue a square box without a lid, of the same size as the finished stone panel should have. Then light the candles and pour the wax that drips from the candles into the cardboard box.
Step 3
Continue to drip wax into the box until you get the desired layer on the bottom - the amount of wax in the box will determine the thickness of your stone panel. Make indentations on cured wax or paraffin using scissors or a knife. Make indentations spontaneously, of arbitrary shape, trying to repeat the natural relief of natural stone with curved lines and chaotic bends.
Step 4
Now dilute the gypsum by adding water to it according to the proportions on the instructions, stir it thoroughly to avoid clumping, and pour the gypsum into the wax depressions. Wait a couple of hours for the plaster to harden completely and remove the plaster stone from the mold.
Step 5
Paint it with acrylics to simulate darker and lighter areas of natural stone. Glue the decorative stone panel to the wall.
Step 6
If necessary, use the created wax mold and in the future - pour gypsum into it as many times as necessary to create the required number of stone panels for facing the wall of your choice.
