The skirt of the year favorably emphasizes the dignity of the female figure and delicately hides the flaws. These are clothes in which a lady of any body size will look graceful. The skirt of the year should exactly follow the contours of the female silhouette, therefore, ideally, this piece of clothing is sewn individually or a ready-made item purchased in a store is adjusted in size. It is very easy to master the technique of sewing a skirt for a year; you need to start work by building a pattern.

Instructions
Step 1
Before making a pattern of a skirt for a year, take measurements from the figure: waist circumference (OT), hips (OB) and determine the length of the skirt. Divide the OT and OB values in half. The length of a year's skirt is usually 70-75 cm, but may well be shorter. Check this value, especially if you are short.
Step 2
Build a pattern of a straight skirt, on the basis of which you will model the desired product. Draw a rectangle, the width of which is equal to the half-girth of the hips, plus one centimeter for the freedom of fitting, the length corresponds to the length of the skirt.
Step 3
Draw a line for the hips on the workpiece. Draw a side line that is half the width of the rectangle. Calculate the depth of the darts, this will be the difference between the PHB and POT values.
Step 4
Build darts on the pattern. Divide the front and back halves of the skirt vertically in half. From these lines, as well as from the side line of the skirt pattern, set aside the required distance in both directions. The side dart should be the widest.
Step 5
Mark the length of the darts: back 12 cm, front 9-10 cm, side dart reaches the hip line. Connect all dart points with straight lines. Lift the side dart 1 cm above the waistline and round it slightly inward. Draw your waistline.
Step 6
When the base is ready, start modeling the pattern of the year skirt. From the hip line, set aside 20-30 cm down, depending on the height of the fold. Draw horizontal lines.
Step 7
From the darts, draw vertical lines down to the intersection with the bottom line. You should have four wedges, two on the front and back of the skirt.
Step 8
Along the bottom line from each quarter to the left and right, set aside 15-20 cm. Connect the lower points with the upper ones. Round the bottom of the wedges slightly.
Step 9
To complete the pattern of the godet skirt, transfer each detail to the tracing paper separately. Make a belt pattern. Cut out the patterns along which you cut out the skirt on the fabric and sew it.
