The most difficult thing in drawing a person is the face. A lot of emotions, small differences and peculiarities make artists constantly look for new ways of displaying. However, even beginners can draw an ordinary face without special artistic techniques.
Instructions
Step 1
First, define the shape. Remember the head is not a ball. It is rather a taper with an offset angle. Therefore, when viewed from the front, it resembles an oval.
Step 2
Make a quick sketch. Mark the location of the eyes, eyelids, eyebrows, nose, lips, and hair. It is not a fact that in the final version all this will be preserved, but such a sketch will help you quickly determine the facial features.
Step 3
Determine the base color of your skin. Then take the colors darker and lighter than the base color to distribute the shadows and highlights. Also prepare additional colors that will probably come in handy during the painting process. With a large brush, paint over the face first with the base color, and then add the desired shades of darkening and lightening.
Step 4
Take a smaller brush and continue stroking. Set the correct face shape and detail the image.
Step 5
Draw the lips. Follow the same principle as before: first paint over with the main color, and then add additional shades. Remember that the lower lip should be slightly larger than the upper lip. Add shadows at the corners of the mouth. Then sketch out the eyes, eyelashes and eyebrows. The pupils must not be white. Take a light gray color and blend from the center. Eyelashes and eyebrows - a large number of small lines of various shades.
Step 6
The face is almost done, but add some hair for the best effect. This will make the drawing look more harmonious. Using a large brush, paint the main strands, and then gradually reduce the size and change the shades until you reach the level of individual hairs. This will make your hair look more natural.
Step 7
Work with light. Determine its direction and brighten some areas of the face. Remember that hair is thin and therefore more exposed to light. Then darken the shaded areas. Pick a color and apply a second level shadow. Finally, add some extra color to add life to the drawing.
