The bag is an indispensable assistant for any travel, from going to the store for bread to traveling to the other end of the country. Depending on the circumstances and distance of travel, the bag can be larger or smaller, simpler or sleeker. A casual summer bag can be sewn using the patchwork technique from the remnants of fabric from other products.
Instructions
Step 1
Draw a sketch of the bag. Let it have the shape of a parallelepiped. The side planes will be rectangles 10 squares long, 5. Each square has a side of 5 cm. Calculate the rest of the faces as you wish. The handles will be two chains, each twice as long as the distance from the left hip to the right shoulder. We will fasten with a zipper in the upper plane. Draw a handbag drawing at your discretion and taking into account the available fabric.
Step 2
Cut the fabric into squares. There should be twice as many of them as needed. The side of each square should be widened in both directions by 1 cm. This is the seam allowance. Cut the same squares on a padding polyester, which will serve as a gasket.
Step 3
Fold the same squares in pairs on top of each other, facing each other. Put a square of padding polyester on top. Sew three sides of the square and turn out so that the synthetic winterizer is inside. Fold in the edges of the fourth side and sew. Process the rest of the squares in the same way, except for those into which you will sew the zipper. Sew them on one side completely, and from two to the middle. Do not flash the last side at all.
Step 4
Sew the squares together to form five planes of the bag. Sew the zipper into the sixth, top one, bending the edges of the squares nearest to it. Modify the plane so that all the squares are as flat as on the rest of the planes.
Step 5
Align the edges on the wrong side and overstitch. Turn it back out. Sew the outermost links of the chain to the top corners of the bag. You have a handbag with one compartment for summer walks.
