Knitted items have always been and will remain in fashion: after all, hand-made products have always been highly valued. And the variety of patterns used in knitting turn every thing into a unique, even unique "exhibit". And even a seemingly ordinary, at first glance, English elastic band in the hands of a craftswoman turns any product into a masterpiece.
It is necessary
- - Knitting;
- - knitting needles;
- - a ruler or measuring tape.
Instructions
Step 1
English elastic is one of the simplest and most comfortable knits. She knits quickly. With this knitting, the fabric turns out to be very even (loop to loop), elastic and neat. Therefore, even beginner knitters will very quickly master this technique and will delight themselves and their loved ones with many interesting, warm and beautiful works.
Step 2
Learning to knit an English gum is one of the unspoken rules of every needlewoman. Indeed, using this pattern, you can knit many beautiful products. The English elastic band is successfully used for knitting hats and scarves, sportswear, half-overs and jackets. Especially successful and beautiful are children's things connected with an English rubber band. They turn out to be large and dense, and at the same time, due to the numerous holes, they are light and delicate.
Step 3
Before you start creating any product, prepare the threads and knitting needles for knitting. Remember that the diameter of the knitting needles depends on the thickness of the yarn. The thicker the yarn, the thicker the needles should be. If, for example, you plan to knit a scarf (hat or any other warm product) for cold weather, then it is better to take thick threads, preferably with the addition of wool or angora. If you plan to knit the product for demi-season weather, then take the threads with knitting needles thinner. Just be sure to keep in mind that the scarf will knit much longer on thin knitting needles.
Step 4
Before starting work, calculate the number of loops by tying the sample. For example, cast on 23 loops (21 loops for the pattern and 2 loops for the edging) and knit the first row in this way: one front loop, then a straight yarn, then remove the next loop, in no case knitting (while the working thread remains working). Repeat this algorithm until the end of the row. Knit the second row as follows: a straight yarn, then remove one loop without knitting (the thread should remain at work), then knit the loop and yarn of the previous row together with the front loop. Alternate these steps until the end of the second row. Crochet, detachable loop, knitting previous loops and yarns.
Step 5
Knit the third row like the second. Knit the loop and yarn of the previous row with the front loop together, then make a straight yarn over and remove the next loop without knitting (the thread is always at work).
Step 6
To continue knitting, alternate the second and third rows one after the other. To knit a pattern in this way, you need about 20 rows. Then attach a measuring tape or ruler to the product and see how many loops fit in one centimeter.
Step 7
When choosing buttonholes for your product, make the following calculations. Multiply the required number of centimeters for the width of the product by the number of loops that fit in one centimeter.
Step 8
If you are going to knit a scarf, then knit it according to the steps above to the length you need. When you are done, all you have to do is close the stitches on the last row. To give the garment a festive look, you can decorate it with a fringe made of threads of the same color and quality.
Step 9
When knitting an English elastic, the fabric turns out to be very lush and easily stretched. The English elastic pattern looks the same from the front and the wrong side of the canvas. And in the semi-English (or semi-antenna), the pattern on the front and back sides is somewhat different. On the front side it is smoother, on the seamy side it is more embossed. To knit a semi-English elastic, cast on an odd number of loops (plus two hem). Knit the first row like this. First, knit a front loop, then make a straight yarn over (with a knitting needle towards you), remove the next loop without knitting it (the working thread should remain at work, that is, behind the loop). Thus, we knit the entire row to the end. Please note that in this row, the working thread should remain on the seamy side of the canvas (behind the loops).
Step 10
Start knitting the second row with a straight crochet (with a knitting needle towards you). Then remove one loop (the one that was front in the first row) without knitting (as in the previous row, the thread - at work). Then knit the removed loop and yarn over the first row with one front loop. Knit the second row like this: yarn over, remove one loop, tie the front loop and yarn over.
Step 11
Knitting the third row is similar to knitting the second row. Knit a loop and a yarn of the second row together with a front loop, make a straight yarn over, remove the loop without knitting. Please note that the working thread should always remain at work. Next, knit all even rows as the second, all odd rows as the third.
