The splendor of a summer glade can be conveyed with just two colors - red and green. The contrast of scarlet poppy and green grass in the drawing will become the most laconic and at the same time expressive illustration of the onset of summer.
It is necessary
- - a sheet of paper for watercolors;
- - watercolor paints;
- - brush for watercolors;
- - a simple pencil.
Instructions
Step 1
Lay a sheet of watercolor paper horizontally. Divide it into four equal parts with the horizontal and vertical center axes. At the intersection of the axes with a circle, mark the core of the flower.
Step 2
Determine the size of the poppy in the picture. To do this, mark the borders of its petals with short strokes at the top, bottom and sides. The distance from the top border of the leaf to the flower should be half that from the bottom. Make the gaps on the sides the same. Step back from the core to the left and draw a straight line down - this is the poppy stalk.
Step 3
Draw the bottom petal of the flower. To do this, draw an arc, lower its right side 5 mm below the level of the core, raise the left one by 1.5 cm. Outline the lower convex part of the petal, add the visible inner part on the sides of the arc.
Step 4
Draw a line for the top petal from the center - it can be shaped like a fan. Its right side is also below the left. Add two inner petals in a semi-circular shape.
Step 5
To the right and left of the poppy, draw the stems and oval pods on them. Do not draw the lines of the grass around with a pencil.
Step 6
Mix different shades of green in separate cells of the palette. Moisten the space around the flower with water and paint a green background on the paper, adding light green plant leaves and a dark green shadow to the main fill.
Step 7
Mix red and orange. After drawing paint on the brush, place two large drops near the core of the flower. Stretch the color over the outside of the side petals and all over the bottom petal. While the paint is still wet, use a clean brush to make some highlights on the right side of the lower petal. In the same way, but with a lighter shade, paint the upper part of the poppy, immediately blurring the highlights.
Step 8
Add shadows to the image. To do this, add brown and a little green to the main shade in the palette. Make a few strokes at the base of the flower, underline the border of the lower petal with thin lines. Use contrasting spots to paint shadows on the petals in the center and vertical lines on the top petal. In light pink, touch the highlights near the core. Use a thin brush to paint the core itself.
Step 9
Fill the poppy stem with cold dark green under the flower and warm light green in the lower half.
