This simple craft will easily create a festive mood for you and your loved one. Make such a sweet surprise to your loved one for any holiday or just like that, for no reason.
Using the simplest materials found in every home, you can decorate a room with very cute hearts.
For crafts, you will need: red and pink paper (craft paper or regular colored paper for a printer will do, patterned paper designed for gift wrapping will also look good), several wine corks, toothpicks, scissors, an awl.
The process of working on the craft:
1. Rinse, dry, and cut each plug in half with a sharp knife, hacksaw, or scissors. If the cut is uneven, it must be trimmed.
2. According to the pattern below, cut out the required number of hearts (it should be equal to the number of the resulting cork coasters).
Tip: diversify the color of the decor - cut out not only red and pink hearts, but also blue, green, yellow …
3. Fold the paper heart like an accordion and pierce it with a thick awl.
Please note: the width of each fold of the accordion should be constant and equal to approximately 0.5-1 cm.
4. String the folded heart onto a toothpick and straighten it to create a three-dimensional detail, as in the photo above.
5. Insert the toothpick into the cork holder. The volumetric heart for interior decoration is ready. Make more of these hearts and place them on the table, windowsill, mantelpiece to please your loved one.
If desired, the hearts can be additionally decorated with tiny bows made of narrow satin ribbons, rhinestones on glue, beads.

1. For example, such hearts can be made larger. In this case, you will need to purchase thin wooden sticks at a construction store. Before work, increase the pattern of the heart in proportion to the length of the stick. The wand itself must be sharpened. In this case, choose paper that is colored on both sides, or glue the two single-sided sheets back to back.
2. A more radical change in the design of the craft - take a different material for the main part. However, in this case, folding the heart like an accordion will no longer work.
Cut a heart shape out of flexible colored plastic and, after making several punctures along its central part, thread a wooden stick so that the heart lies on it in a beautiful wave.
3. Hearts made of fabric will also look interesting, especially if you choose a material with a small pattern (floral or abstract). The easiest way is to cover ready-made foam blanks with fabric, which can be found in handicraft stores.
