The surface of the box is degreased. To do this, you need to soak a cotton pad with alcohol or vodka, wipe the entire surface of the box.

Step 3

A sufficiently thick layer of PVA glue is applied to the prepared surface with a brush. After that, you should wait until the glue dries a little. Next, using a sponge, you need to cover the surface of the box with white acrylic paint, then dry the surface with a hairdryer. Keep the hair dryer close enough. During the drying process, beautiful cracks form on the surface of the paint, imitating an aged coating.

Step 4

Separate the pattern layer from the cut pieces of napkins. As a rule, decoupage napkins are three-layer. The bottom two layers are unnecessary. The drawing should be sprinkled with hairspray and ironed with an iron. To glue the surface of the box with napkins, dilute PVA glue with water in proportions 1: 1. Attach the drawing to the surface of the box, moisten the brush in the glue mixture, smooth the drawing with careful movements from the center to the edges, moistening it with the brush. Try to do this procedure carefully and carefully, a wet cloth breaks very easily. To achieve a good result, it is necessary to avoid the appearance of bubbles under the pattern.

Step 5

After the box is pasted over with napkins, you need to let the surface dry. Then you need to cover the box with acrylic varnish. Let each coat dry thoroughly. After the varnish has dried, you can use the box for its intended purpose.
