Kimono is comfortable clothing for sports activities (sambo, fencing, judo, karate and others). A feature is the lack of a size range as such, since the width is adjusted with a belt.

It is necessary

  • - the cloth;
  • - materials for sewing;
  • - the basics of cutting and sewing.

Instructions

Step 1

Start sewing the kimono by cutting the details. The first step is to cut the back, which is a rectangular shape. The front is a similar rectangle cut into two equal halves. On the back, cut a neckline, the diameter of which is equal to the half-girth of the neck. The sleeves are also rectangular in shape, typically each sleeve should be 75 cm wide for an adult. Choose the length in accordance with the physical parameters of the person, taking into account that during training the sleeves do not interfere.

Step 2

Next, sew the two front halves to the back along a line from the neckline to the edge of the shoulder. Sew the sleeves in such a way that the seam on the sleeve is aligned with the previous seam. Sew the prepared sleeve in the form of a pipe folded in half to the back and front from the edge of the shoulder to the bottom line. The second sleeve should be sewn in the same way.

Step 3

The next step is to sew the extensions to the front strips and to the neckline. The extensions to the front are rectangles, and the neck is a triangle. At the same stage, it is advisable to process the open edges of the seams, which will allow the fabric not to crumble.

Step 4

Make a belt. The width of a woman's belt is a piece of fabric 6 meters long and 60 cm wide. After processing, a 30-centimeter belt is obtained. The finished men's belt should be 10 cm wide and about two meters long.
