Everyone dreams of a career as an actor or actress. And according to statistics, theater universities are experiencing the largest influx of applicants every year. Usually the competition is more than 200 people per seat. In the acting group of GITIS they are recruiting up to 23-25 years old, for future directors the age qualification has been increased to 35 years, but they must already have experience in professional or amateur theater.
Instructions
Step 1
Before submitting documents to a theater university, applicants go through a selection round - a creative competition. Future actors will have to show themselves in the skill of an artist, stage speech, as well as their knowledge of the history of theater at the colloquium. For directors, the competition is divided into 4 stages - the skill of the artist, practical directing orally and in writing, and a colloquium on the history of theater. If all three rounds of the creative competition are successfully passed, then exams in Russian language and literature await you. The talent of the applicant is assessed on the mastery exam. Several works of different genres are performed here - poem, fable, prose. When preparing the program, choose those passages that are close to you in spirit, which you understand and feel with every cell of your body. Evaluate your possible theatrical role, select the program according to the type. Do not prepare long passages - no one will listen to them, it is better to prepare several pieces from different works, since the commission may ask you to read something else. And most importantly, don't try to be sophisticated. The original passage is certainly good, but do not forget about the proximity of the text to your inner world. Sometimes it is better to show Pushkin, familiar and understandable to everyone from childhood, rather than the complex Baudelaire or Borges. In addition to program works, the commission may ask to perform an impromptu stage etude, sing, dance, etc. By the way, in such faculties as pop, choreographer, musical theater, dance and vocals are included in the program tests of the creative competition.
Step 2
After successfully passing the skill exam, future actors are admitted to the colloquium, and directors are admitted to the directing exam. The exam in directing consists of an exam in practical directing, written directorial work performed in the audience on topics determined by the examination committee, and a colloquium. modern), music, painting, cinema, literature, etc. An oral exam in directing is a study on a given topic; it can be any work from a musical to a painting. To participate in the etude, the applicant can involve other applicants in his stage action. Here it is important to find an emotional-figurative expression of the thought that the future director wants to reveal in the sketch. At this stage, the commission checks the applicant's creative imagination and taste, as well as his initiative and ingenuity. Written directorial work is a staging plan for an entire play or one of the scenes, by decision of the commission, as well as clearly stated on paper descriptions of the director's intentions in terms of artistic and musical design.
Step 3
A colloquium is an interview where the applicant's level of intellectual development, erudition, interests, imaginative thinking ability, as well as his aesthetic views and cultural level are checked. To successfully complete the stage, it is necessary to freely navigate in Russian and foreign literature, drama, theater criticism, the history of directing and drama theater. The GITIS website contains a list of mandatory reading materials to prepare for the colloquium.
Step 4
After passing all three stages of the creative competition, applicants are allowed to take exams in general disciplines: Russian language and literature. For applicants who do not have USE certificates, it is carried out in the form of an essay.
