Finger Theater is an old children's entertainment. Modern kids like it no less than their grandparents once did. Dolls for such a theater can be sewn, made from multi-colored corks or medicine jars, and also crocheted.

Step 1
First, decide which fairy tale you will stage. The "troupe" can then be supplemented with new characters. Better to start with animals. Chanterelle, hare, bear, wolf participate in many fairy tales. Choose threads of the appropriate color. For the chanterelle, you need some orange yarn, for the bear - brown, for the hare and the wolf - gray. If a certain color doesn’t hate, it’s not scary. The base can be knitted from any thread, and then sew on a muzzle made of fabric of the desired color.
Step 2
The basis of any figurine for the finger theater is a small case. It should fit snugly on the finger of the person who will be showing the performance, but at the same time it should be worn loosely enough so that you can change characters in the course of the action. Tie a chain of 10-12 stitches and close it into a ring. Make 1 upstitch loop. Then knit in a circle with simple columns about 3 cm.
Step 3
Lower the loops of the cover in the same way as you would when knitting a glove or mitten. Knit the posts in pairs. In the next row, halve the number of stitches again. Knit the remaining stitches all together, cut and secure the thread, and then bring it to the wrong side.
Step 4
If the threads match the color, you can simply embroider the muzzle. The application of this or that seam depends on the size of the figurine. If the case is large enough, it is best to embroider the eyes with a circular buttonhole stitch. For very small figures, any seam will work, as long as the eyes, nose and mouth are visible.
Step 5
It is better to sew a face to some figures. For example, if you are doing Grandma, Grandpa or Granddaughter. Cut a circle out of a white or light pink flannel, embroider the eyes, nose and mouth on it, and then sew the face to the case with an over-the-edge seam. It is better to choose threads to match the color of the fabric. The granddaughter can make pigtails from yellow, brown or black "iris" or floss. Sew on your grandfather a white beard, also from a floss.
