In episode 21 of the first season, the head of the clinic, Dr. Cuddy, forces House to give a lecture to students, to replace a sick teacher. On the same day, House meets his beloved woman at the clinic, with whom he parted 5 years ago. At the lecture, House, in his usual manner, begins to make riddles to students. He tells them three different stories in which patients come to the clinic with leg pain. At the end of the episode, it turns out that one of the stories happened in the life of Greg.
He was admitted to the hospital with a sharp pain in his right hip, but his attending physician, who at that time was Greg's boss, Lisa Cuddy, diagnosed too late. A muscle infarction occurred in the leg, after which it was necessary to amputate the leg to the hip. House did not allow this, he believed that he could cope, and he did not want to be disabled in a chair.
Because of the unbearable pain, House asked to put him into a medication coma. When House could not make decisions on his own, his beloved Stacy did it for him, who agreed to have House cut out a large area of the affected muscles. House is afraid to admit defeat, he tries to cut out the tumors himself, but in the end he almost faints, having time to call Lisa Cuddy.
There are a lot of moments in the show related to House's illness and his possible recovery.
