It is necessary

  • - 2 boards 2 cm thick;
  • - round window bolt;
  • - wooden blocks;
  • - thick wire;
  • - ball bearings or wheels from a children's bike;
  • - carpentry and locksmith tools.

Instructions

Step 1

The scooter has 2 main parts - a footboard and a steering column. Start by making a kickstand. Cut a piece of board 80-90 cm long. Cut a groove for the rear wheel in the back of the board. The depth of the cut should be 2 cm greater than the sum of the wheel radius and axle thickness.

Step 2

If you are using ball bearings, the axis for them is a wooden rod. File the outer parts of such axles to obtain planes for attaching the rods to the board. Attach the axis, which should be on the plane of the board that will face the ground, with screws. If you have wheels from a children's bike, it is advisable to use a bolt as an axle, which is attached to a wooden boss with the help of nuts. The boss is attached with screws from the bottom to the footrest.

Step 3

On the front of the footrest, cut 45 ° corners. Attach a block from above to the board. Its width is equal to the width of the footrest. Its length is 4-5 cm, and its height should be slightly more than the length of the window bolt. Also cut the front corners of the block at 45 °.

Step 4

Disassemble the window bolt. Remove the handle and locking bar from it. You won't need them. Bend the U-shaped bracket out of the iron wire. It should rotate freely in the latch. The ends should be slightly longer than the thickness of the steering column board plus the height of the three nuts. Cut a thread at the ends of the bracket for these nuts. Insert the clip into the groove of the latch and fasten it vertically to the wooden block of the footrest. This is best done with screws. Check the ease of movement of the bracket in the resulting device. If the stroke is too tight, sharpen the staple or wood boss.

Step 5

Make the steering column in the same way as the footrest. It differs in that at the end opposite to the wheel, a transverse wooden strip is nailed or screwed. She serves as a steering wheel. It must be well sanded and pieces of rubber hose put on it.

Step 6

In the steering column board, in the place where it will be connected to the footboard, drill 2 holes for attaching the bracket for the pivot assembly. Screw on the ends of the brackets over the nut and thread over the washer. Insert the rods into the holes in the steering column. Screw on one more washer and secure the structure firmly with nuts and locknuts. The scooter is ready.
