Work and creativity
In the eighties, pop performers from the Baltics were perceived by inexperienced Soviet TV viewers as the standard of European singing and music. They were very popular thanks to their participation in the Blue Lights and the Song of the Year program. The Latvian pop ensemble "Modo", in which Mirdza performed, was no exception to this rule. The humorous song “We must think”, sung by Mirdza Zivere and Imant Vanzovich, made the charming couple famous in an instant. The music performed by the Modo group was of high quality, as the repertoire was dealt with by Raimonds Pauls. The audience immediately attributed an affair with Imant to Mirdze. However, the singer was already legally married by this time. Her husband, Sigmar Liepinsh, was condescending to the floating rumors, which even attributed the paternity of their joint children to Imants. The personal life of Mirdza and Sigmar is very strong. They raised two children - a son Janis and a daughter Zane.
Sigmar in 1978 became the leader of the ensemble and began to conduct all kinds of performances with the participation of "Modo". And in 1983 the group was renamed into the famous "Opus". The musicians staged musicals and rock operas, with which they toured extensively in the cities of the Soviet Union.
Mirdza is a very smiling person, she loved to sing perky and cheerful songs. She was very good at jazz improvisations, since the singer has a natural sense of rhythm.
Her songs were so popular in Latvia that they brought their performer many prizes at national festivals and competitions.
Having matured, the singer abandoned pop art and is engaged in advertising on national radio broadcasting. Mirdza works with her beloved husband, who runs the radio studio. Mirdza Zivere is an excellent organizer, her husband is a composer and librettist, he completely trusts his wife in organizing the performances of his operas.
