Step 1
On your hands you have a leather raincoat, old or outdated with an eye on fashion. Why is a leather cloak taken as an example, because this is the most difficult material in the reshaping work. You can handle other types of raincoat fabric just fine if you master leather.
Step 2
Use scissors to cut the raincoat at the thighs, after drawing the cut line with chalk. Change the clasp on it. If there was a supate clasp, then it is better to change it to a lock. You can make large buttons covered with leather. But for this you will have to overcast additional loops opposite the buttons.
Step 3
Sew locks into sleeves to decorate leather. Sew the raised front and side seams with your machine. Rivet metal rivets on the jacket.
Step 4
Make a pattern for the jacket from the lining material. Better if it is warmed, quilted, then the jacket will be warm in spring and autumn. Sew the finished lining on the typewriter to the jacket. Sew the bottom, tucking the leather to the lining. If the old belt from the raincoat is frayed, and the model of the jacket requires it, sew a belt from the scraps of leather.
Step 5
Lubricate the finished jacket with glycerin to shine and soften the skin. You can paint it with leather-friendly paint if the fabric is too frayed. The end result is a vintage-style leather item.
Step 6
You can also use the leftover trimmed leather to decorate the jacket, such as fringes, which should be used to adorn the bottom of the garment or the pockets on it. If there are no pockets on the jacket, but you would like to have them here, you can sew them from the remnants of the leather. As an option for decorating the jacket - sewing on faux fur to it. Fur can cover places on a jacket that are heavily worn out - collar, bottom, sleeves.
